Once Cast Members and Guests experience the all-new Walt Disney World Railroad, which features a 100-year-old vintage steam train, they will be treated to a new track and many more surprises. Designed to honor Walt’s love of trains, the attraction operated all the way to December 3, 2018, when it was temporarily closed due to ongoing construction for the much-anticipated TRON attraction. The Walt Disney World Railroad was an original, “Opening Day,” attraction at the Magic Kingdom.

While we don’t have an official reopening date for Guests, Disney has confirmed that the Walt Disney World Railroad will be reopening this holiday season! Cast Member Previews started today, Thursday, December 22, 2022, and will be among the first to see some changes to the iconic Magic Kingdom attraction.
